Based on IntelÆs 440BX chipset, this ASUS motherboard supports both Intel FC PGA Pentium III and Celeron processors. The two Ultra DMA/66 and two Ultra DMA/33 IDE ports can support up to eight devices, and the four DIMM slots can support up to 1 GB of RAM. Expansion slots include one AGP, six PCI and an ISA slot. Five USB ports add more power to the board.
You can power on the board by specifying the date and time, and powering it on later through keyboard, PS/2 mouse or modem. The bundled PC Health Monitoring software provides a way to examine and manage system status information.
The board was tested using a Celeron 400 MHz processor, 128 MB of PC100 SDRAM, and Ziff-Davis Winstone 99. A score of 19.3 and 23.6 fps in Quake 2 makes this motherboard ideal for users who are ahead of time.
